SAN JOSE, Calif., July 2, 2026 — THIRDREALITY today announced the Smart Timer Light TL2, the company’s first presence-sensing product built on Matter-over-Wi-Fi.
Building on THIRDREALITY’s experience in smart lighting and presence sensing, the TL2 combines 60 GHz mmWave detection with a digital clock, countdown timer, and adjustable RGB and white lighting.
The built-in radar detects both movement and stationary presence during activities such as reading, working, or resting. This allows supported routines to keep connected devices active while a room remains occupied and turn them off after vacancy has been confirmed.
The lighting system provides soft RGB and white illumination. In compatible routines, different colors can also serve as visual indicators for household events or connected-device status.
Direct controls on the device provide 5-, 10-, 15-, and 60-minute countdown settings, while the app supports countdowns of up to 60 minutes. The display supports both 12-hour and 24-hour formats and automatically rotates when the device is repositioned.
Built on Matter-over-Wi-Fi, the TL2 can be added to supported Matter platforms through a compatible Matter controller. It is also Works with Alexa certified and supports Amazon Frustration-Free Setup on compatible Alexa devices.
After the TL2 is powered on, compatible Alexa devices can discover it automatically in the Alexa app without requiring users to enter a Wi-Fi password manually or complete a separate pairing workflow.
